Freedom Church Porth
We (Stephen and Lisa) moved to the Welsh Valleys from Cardiff back in 2022 with our two children. We knew that God was calling us and with a number of confirmations we moved to Tonyrefail to support a plant out of our church, Freedom Church. After spending some time there God very clearly directed us to start our own church in our new home in Porth, just up and over the mountain.
And so we started meeting as Freedom Church Porth in our house in January this year, just two months before our third child’s arrival.
The months following we spent time building community and investing in the church family that God had provided. Seeing such incredible fruit and life change from these people we are doing life alongside we got a vision to expand and in September moved into a venue God clearly led us to.
We now meet in the Welsh Hills Works in Porth, known locally as The Pop Factory. We rent one of the smaller spaces with the vision to grow and eventually move into the big event space. Also we run a weekly bible study and prayer meeting as well as a monthly women and men’s night. All of which are helping to build unity and equipping us all with knowledge as well as deepening our faith.
Freedom Church Porth is eager to see more people join the family to experience a life changing relationship with Jesus and to see Porth and the surrounding areas transformed.
We fully believe that we are at the beginning of a move of God and he has really excited us with a vision for the Rhondda valleys as a whole. To see more church plants and home churches up and down the valleys. Which is in line with a number of prophetic words spoken over our church in Cardiff.
We believe in the Holy Spirit and that the gifts of the Spirit play a big role in building Gods kingdom and equipping us as Christians.
Prayer Points
- Please pray that we would see salvation and restoration in every aspect of our people’s lives. That we’ll see our people fully redeemed, fruitful and productive in all areas of their lives. From finances, health, to relationships and reconciliation with families.
- That God would channel some of his kingdom resource to us, as we see new people coming through our doors that we would be better prepared and equipped to receive and welcome the harvest.
- We want to see an increase in signs and wonders, the miracle working power that God promised us in his word.
